The start of this event was delayed by approximately 3 minutes to allow the track to be adequately prepared following a malfunction with the track watering system. The sections of the track concerned were inspected by Stewards and found suitable to race.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Big Mary trialled over the 400m from box 4, weight 29.2kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 23.06, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2 lengths. Big Mary was Cleared.
