Steward's Report
Joyce Jetson was slow to begin. Surprise Mecko and Gave Surf Away collided soon after the start checking Surprise Mecko. Parumba Corvette, Rose Of Nikita and Jarry Reg collided on the first turn checking Rose Of Nikita and Joyce Jetson and severely checking Jarry Reg which contacted the running rail. Jarry Reg galloped on Rose Of Nikita approaching the home turn checking Gave Surf Away. Rose Of Nikita faltered and tailed off approahcing the home turn. Yazz raced wide approaching the home turn. Wasabi Princess and Parumba Corvette collided on the home turn. Yazz crossed out on the home turn and collided with Wasabi Princess and Parumba Corvette.
Rose Of Nikita was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn right back muscle, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Yazz was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right triangle muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Steward's consulted with Club Veterinary Surgeon Ms. Cindy Hayes who stated that in her opinion the injury sustained to Yazz would have had an impact on the greyhounds performance.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. L. Harris the trainer of Yazz regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.
