Steward's Report
After taking evidence from Trainer John Carr, King Of Diamonds was declared a late scratching at 6.44pm by order of Stewards. The reason for the nomination and subsequent scratching of the greyhound will be investigated by the grading and member services departments.
Miss Jacky and Dr. Condor were slow to begin.
Kulu Ozzie and Dyna Quail collided on the first turn causing Dyna Quail checked off South Of Eden. Dyna Quail checked off Blackjack Neo entering the front straight and raced wide. Dyna Quail and Dr. Condor collided in the front straight. South Of Eden, Rajasthan and Kulu Ozzie collided entering the back straight checking Rajasthan. Dyna Quail marred Dr. Condor entering the home straight severely checking Dr. Condor.
Dyna Quail was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left & right deltoid soreness and left & right saddle soreness, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr M. Marshall, the trainer of the greyhound Dyna Quail regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Dyna Quail with marring. Mr Marshall pleaded guilty to the charge, Dyna Quail was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
South Of Eden was vetted following an incident in the catching pen. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
A post-race sample was taken from Blackjack Neo - winner of the event.
