Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Polo.

Over And Out and Ginza Lion were slow to begin.  El My Girl, Pyrenees Acclaim, Myrtle Grange and Severus Grange collided approaching the first turn, checking Severus Grange and Pyrenees Acclaim.  Ginza Lion, Severus Grange, Over And Out and From The Shadows collided on the first turn, checking Severus Grange and Over And Out.  Pyrenees Acclaim, Myrtle Grange and Over And Out raced wide on the home turn.  El My Girl and Myrtle Grange collided in the home straight.  Polo turned it's head outwards in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Ms Natalie Perkins, the trainer of the greyhound Polo, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Polo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg monkey muscle injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Polo with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Ms Perkins pleaded guilty to the charge, Polo was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
