Dynamite Jackson and Ruby Gas were slow to begin.
Dynamite Jackson faltered approaching the first turn; the greyhound subsequently lost considerable ground and pulled up. Spring Saviour, Tricky Trey, Striking Gold and Ruby Gas collided on the first turn, checking Striking Gold. Ruby Gas checked off the heels of Tron's Empire on the first turn. Striking Gold checked off Tricky Trey on the home turn. Zuberi raced wide on the home turn. Spring Saviour, Tricky Trey and Striking Gold collided entering the home straight, checking Tricky Trey which collided with Ruby Gas.
Zuberi was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the base of the tail and the right long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.
