Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Chiseller.
Short Leash and Come On Charlize were quick to begin. Select Teeman was slow to begin and stumbled soon after the start. Three Toots eased approaching the first turn and pulled up as a result. Short Leash and Come On Charlize collided on the first turn. Short Leash eased on the first turn and pulled up.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Smoor, the trainer of the greyhound Short Leash regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Short Leash was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left back muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Short Leash with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Smoor pleaded guilty to the charge, Short Leash was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Three Toots was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Trainer Ms. T. Deglaitis declined to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Ms. Deglaitis, the trainer of the greyhound Three Toots regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Three Toots with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Deglaitis pleaded guilty to the charge, Three Toots was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Meeting Comments:-
Satisfactory Trial Results (Blinkers Off) - Beer On Tap trialled over the 425mt from box 1, weight 28.2kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.55, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 7L. Beer On Tap was cleared to race without blinkers.
Satisfactory Trial Results - Surfside Squids trialled over the 425mt from box 3, weight 31.5kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.55, the greyhound won by a margin of 7L. Surfside Squids was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results - Belivet trialled over the 425mt from box 5, weight 30.9kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.55, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 11.5L. Belivet was cleared.
