Covfefe, Dreamliner, Big Butterbean and Dark Stealth were slow to begin.

Dreamliner and Go Maxi collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Go Maxi.  Go Maxi and Soda Maxi collided on the first turn severely checking Go Maxi.  Dreamliner and Stealthy Flight collided on the first turn checking Stealthy Flight.  Stealthy Flight and Soda Maxi collided on the home turn checking Stealthy Flight and severely checking Soda Maxi which stumbled.  Go Maxi eased on the home turn and subsequently pulled up in the home straight.  Big Butterbean raced wide in the home straight.

Go Maxi was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr Tony Cortese, the trainer of the greyhound Go Maxi regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Go Maxi with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Cortese pleaded guilty to the charge, Go Maxi was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Soda Maxi was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury and an abrasion to the right medial tibia, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr John Peterson, trainer of Bar King Bonza declared a new weight of 30.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Bar King Bonza last raced at 32.6kgs.

Shooters Ali was slow to begin.

Brindle Delight and Bar King Bonza collided soon after the start checking Bar King Bonza.  Santana, Miss Chelsea and Split Pea collided soon after the start.  Santana crossed out approaching the first turn and checked off Miss Chelsea.  Brindle Delight and National Girl collided on the first turn checking National Girl and Split Pea.  Brindle Delight checked off Bar King Bonza.  National Girl and Split Pea collided on the first turn and again on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Shooters Ali raced wide in the home straight.

Galloping Wytee was quick to begin. Supercity Star was slow to begin.

Qatar Girl and My Echidna collided soon after the start.  My Echidna and Zipping Chantal collided soon after the start.  Galloping Wytee crossed in soon after the start.  Miss Gippsland and Swift Mandy collided on the first turn checking Miss Gippsland.  My Echidna and Zipping Chantal collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Terrigal Tornado and Qatar Girl collided approaching the home turn checking Qatar Girl, Supercity Star and My Echidna.  Miss Gippsland checked off Terrigal Tornado approaching the home turn.  Miss Gippsland raced wide on the home turn.  Swift Mandy and Galloping Wytee collided in the home straight.  Swift Mandy and Terrigal Tornado collided approaching the winning post.

Malick was slow to begin.

Lektra Rival and Vladimir Rose collided approaching the first turn.  Vladimir Rose and Brindle Ninja collided on the first turn checking Vladimir Rose, Brindle Ninja and Wolf Point.  Brindle Ninja and Dyna Cassie collided approaching the home turn checking Brindle Ninja.

Meehan Barney was a late scratching at 12:05pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a left triangle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Paul Spiteri, the Trainer of Meehan Barney and Mr. Phillip Pollutro, the representative regarding the late scratching of the greyhound. Stewards reminded Mr. Spiteri of his responsibilities when scratching a greyhound after the appointed scratching time. 

Gin Lee's Bullet, Garrido and Temujin collided soon after the start checking Garrido.  Scorching Fella and Spazzy Blue collided approaching the first turn Checking Spazzy Blue.  Jonny Bravo and Temujin collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds and causing Garrido to check off Temujin.

A pre-race sample was taken from Zipping Ella.  

Gunmetal Liam was slow to begin.

He's A Natural and Gunmetal Liam collided soon after the start checking Gunmetal Liam.  Extra Kisses and Zipping Ella collided approaching the first turn.  Oni and Zipping Ella collided on the first turn checking Zipping Ella causing Zipping Ella to contact the running rail and lose ground as a result.  He's A Natural and Extra Kisses collided approaching the home turn checking Extra Kisses.  Oni checked off Lancome Lady on the home turn. 

Zipping Ella was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr Gino Micallef, trainer of Let Him Ride declared a new weight of 33.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Let Him Ride last raced at 31.7kgs.

Dr. Toretto was slow to begin.  Dr. Paulina was very slow to begin (6 lengths).

Dr. Toretto and Wicked Hillary collided soon after the start.  Why Not Jojo brushed the running rail on the first turn checking Bronelly Spike.  

A post-race sample was taken from Let Him Ride - winner of the event. 

Krypto Jam, Jessie's Typhoon  and Oozing Mojo were slow to begin.

Oozing Mojo, My Alibi, Dr. Dedra, Jesse's Typhoon and Dr. Annie collided approaching the first turn.  Dr. Annie and Baggy's Request collided approaching the first turn checking Baggy's Request.  Krypto Jam and My Alibi collided on the first turn checking Krypto Jam.  Dr. Annie galloped on Oozing Mojo on the home turn severely checking both greyhounds.  Dr. Dedra and Dr. Annie raced wide in the home straight.

Little Kensi was quick to begin.

Lady Alliance, Voluptuous Dot and Busta Voe collided soon after the start.  Voluptuous Dot, Busta Voe, Buzz The Tower and Tron's Empire collided approaching the first turn checking Voluptuous Dot and Busta Voe.  Lady Alliance checked off Cosmic Sole on the first turn.  Voluptuous Dot checked off Buzz The Tower on the first turn checking Busta Voe.  Voluptuous Dot raced wide entering the home straight.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Kelvyn Greenough, the trainer of Zara's Entity regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Zara's Entity last raced on 17 November 2017 and is returning from a seasonal spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Zara's Entity trialled over the 460mtrs from box 3, weight 29.7kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 26.02, the greyhound won by a margin of 6 lengths. Zara's Entity was Cleared.
