Steward's Report
Covfefe, Dreamliner, Big Butterbean and Dark Stealth were slow to begin.
Dreamliner and Go Maxi collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Go Maxi. Go Maxi and Soda Maxi collided on the first turn severely checking Go Maxi. Dreamliner and Stealthy Flight collided on the first turn checking Stealthy Flight. Stealthy Flight and Soda Maxi collided on the home turn checking Stealthy Flight and severely checking Soda Maxi which stumbled. Go Maxi eased on the home turn and subsequently pulled up in the home straight. Big Butterbean raced wide in the home straight.
Go Maxi was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr Tony Cortese, the trainer of the greyhound Go Maxi regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Go Maxi with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Cortese pleaded guilty to the charge, Go Maxi was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Soda Maxi was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury and an abrasion to the right medial tibia, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
