Pyrenees Knight was very slow to begin (3L).  Pyrenees Knight, Callinish Hana and Janiya Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Pyrenees Knight, and causing Callinish Hana to fall.  Stewie Deeds and Hadarah Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Hadarah Bale.  Marez Bale, Janiya Bale and Hadarah Bale collided on the first turn, checking Marez Bale.  Tomassi checked off Marez Bale approaching the home turn.  Janiya Bale raced wide on the home turn and collided with Hadarah Bale.  Janiya Bale marred Marez Bale in the home straight, checking Marez Bale on several occasions.

Stewards spoke to Mr Thomas Mitchell, the handler of Janiya Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Janiya Bale was charged with marring.  Mr Mitchell pleaded guilty to the charge, Janiya Bale is suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Aston Ledger was slow to begin.  Steorra, Time Saver and Pacey Bale collided soon after the start, checking Steorra and Time Saver.  Our Flying Kenny, Pacey Bale and Aston Jagger collided on the first turn, checking Pacey Bale and Aston Jagger.  Steorra and Time Saver collided approaching the home turn, checking Time Saver.  Steorra checked off Pacey Bale in the home straight.

Believe In You and Solar Life were quick to begin.  All Inn Christy and Beaut Deeds collided soon after the start, checking Beaut Deeds.  Pyrenees Daisy checked off All Inn Christy on the first turn.  Gendarme and Aston Zoro collided approaching the home turn, checking Aston Zoro.  Aston Zoro and Beaut Deeds collided on the home turn, checking Beaut Deeds.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Geall, the representative of Shima Mart, regarding the greyhound performing below market expectations. Mr Geall stated that Shima Mart had received interfernce on the first turn, however he was disappointed with the greyhounds performance over the concluding stages. Mr. Geall added that Shima Mart has been in the kennels for two weeks and had trialled only fairly last week and was surprised that the greyhound was short in the market. Stewards noted his explanation.

Jar Man was quick to begin.  Bear Left checked off Rave On approaching the first turn.  Wok Fried Yabby, Rave On and Fernando Drums collided on the first turn, checking Wok Fried Yabby and Rave On.  Rave On and Bear Left collided approaching the home turn, checking Bear Left.

Soda Geoff was slow to begin and stumbled at box rise.  Orleans and Top Alcohol collided approaching the first turn, checking Top Alcohol.  All Inn Misshap checked off Orleans approaching the first turn.  Orleans and Top Alcohol collided on the first turn, checking Top Alcohol.  Soda Geoff and Top Alcohol collided in the home straight, checking Top Alcohol.

Prior to race 8, Stewards noted that a number of lights in the back straight had failed to operate. Due to sufficient daylight at this time, race 8 proceeded as scheduled. After the running of race 8, Stewards initially re-scheduled race 9 to start at 6.34PM to allow them, along with the Club Manager and Track Manager to try and remediate this matter. Shortly thereafter, Stewards called an indefinite delay to allow for an electrician to undertake remedial work. At 6.40PM, after consultation with the electrician and Club Manager, Stewards abandoned race 9 and 10 due to the length of time which was needed to rectify this electrical issue. The Horsham Greyhound Racing Club will follow up on this matter tomorrow.
