Flossing was quick to begin. Aston Sultan and Real Obsession collided soon after the start. Tye Me Chopper checked off Why Not Macca approaching the first turn. Tye Me Chopper and Que Allen collided on the first turn, checking Tye Me Chopper. Que Allen galloped on the heels of Aston Sultan approaching the home turn, checking Que Allen, Aston Sultan and Stagger Out Sam. Stagger Out Sam race wide on the home turn. Real Obsession and Que Allen collided in the home straight.
Tye Me Chopper underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected.
