Glayva and Lucille Dior were quick to begin.
Due To Burn crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Bear Left, Glayva and Aston Milla, which lost ground as a result. Aston Milla, Glayva and Bear Left collided approaching the home turn. Glayva and Bear Left raced wide on the home turn. Glayva and Bear Left collided in the home straight. Floppy Joe failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the winning post.
Floppy Joe underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. Mr. D. Trewin the handler of Floppy Joe, declined to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr.D.Trewin, the handler of Floppy Joe regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Floppy Joe was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr.D.Trewin pleaded guilty to the charge, Floppy Joe is suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted
