Steward's Report
Berry Bound was a late scratching at 5.42pm on the advice of the on track Veterinarian due to a cut on the right hind leg. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Black Eclipse was a late scratching at 5.50pm on the advice of the on track Veterinarian due to a wound on the left front webbing. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre-race sample was taken from Shevchenko.
Shevchenko was quick to begin. High Tale crossed in soon after the start checking Backin' Bully, Superior Charry and Pacific Reef, Pacific Reef lost ground. Pacific Reef raced wide in the home straight.
Pacific Reef underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was detected.
Stewards spoke to Mr. I. Anderson regarding the performance of Pacific Reef in this event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71 Pacific Reef must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
