Flaming Brooke was slow to begin. Wadelock Mindy crossed wide soon after the start checking Garrido. Maggie Mikado and Irinka Jenna collided approaching the first turn. Fess Crockett and Garrido collided approaching the first turn and on the first turn. Garrido and Irinka Jenna collided on the first turn. Irinka Jenna checked off Fess Crockett approaching the second turn. Garrido checked off Irinka Jenna on the second turn.
A post-race sample was taken from Flaming Brooke – unplaced in the event.
Mr W. McMahon failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Flaming Brooke for racing. Mr McMahon was issued a warning pursuant to GAR 46(2).
