Stewards suspended racing due to lighting and thunderstorm activity breaching the safety zone around the venue, in accordance to the lighting and thunderstorm procedure. All races were put back one race as a result.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this event was deemed Heat Affected.  The outside temperature when kennels opened at 5.10pm was 32 degrees. The kennel temperature was 19.6 degrees. The kennel temperature at close of kennels was 20.1 degrees.

Stewards walked the track after the heavy rain and deemed the track satifactory for racing.

Prior to the running of the event the outside temperature was 20.0 degrees. Stewards no longer deemed this event Heat Affected.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Grand Marina and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 6.07pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr M. Tharle was fined the sum of $100. 

Stewards spoke to Mr Davide Fasoli, the trainer of Whodat Dare regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Whodat Dare last raced on 12 August 2019. Mr Fasoli stated that the greyhound suffered a ligament injury to its right hock.

Mr S. Spoljaric was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers/registration card were produced for the greyhound Chase 'Em Spolly pursuant to GAR 33.

Due to kennel number 4 been deemed damaged, greyhound Whodat Dare was place in kennel number 97.

Dark Stealth and Chase 'Em Spolly were slow to begin.  Banjo Plato was very slow to begin (2 lengths).

Taking Off was slow to begin.

Taking Off checked off Dyna Alexia soon after the start.  Dyna Alexia, House Of Luck and Tanya's Way collided on the first, House Of Luck and Tanya's Way raced wide as result.  Polo Pete checked off Mindy's Girl approaching the home turn.  Zipping Navy and Aurora Miss collided approaching the home turn checking Aurora Miss.  Dyna Alexia and Aurora Miss collided on the home turn.  Dyna Alexia and Zipping Navy collided in the home straight.  Zipping Navy and Tanya's Way collided approaching the winning post.

Run The Route and Party Muscles were slow to begin.

Lightning Seven and Pink Tiara collided soon after the start checking Pink Tiara.  Extreme Summer and Lightning Seven collided approaching the first turn.  Lightning Seven checked off Princess Spolly on the first turn.  Lightning Seven and Party Muscles collided on the home turn.  

Aston Veloci was quick to begin. Spolly James and Architecture were slow to begin.

Spolly James, Architecture and Python Pride collided soon after the start. Python Pride and She's Our Poppy collided on the first turn.  Aladdin Prince galloped on Ebonique on the first turn.  Spolly James checked off Emma Lakers on the first turn checking Spolly James and Architecture, Architecture raced wide as a result.  Architecture checked off She's Our Poppy approaching the home turn.  Python Pride checked off Aladdin Prince approaching the home turn.  Architecture and She's Our Poppy collided on the home turn.

Scooby Boy and Go Go Guru collided soon after the start.  Let's Run and Penny Lane Keats collided on the first turn.  Penny Lane Keats and Go Go Guru collided in the home straight. 

Dyna Winter was quick to begin.  Baby Huey was slow to begin.

White Cynder, Desiree Dancer and Bigtime Bruce collided soon after the start.  White Cynder checked off Baby Huey on the first turn.  Bigtime Bruce checked off Desiree Dancer on the first turn.  White Cynder and Desiree Dancer collided several times in the home straight and approaching the winning post.

Pistol was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left chest muscle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposd.

Empress Rose was quick to begin.  Dyna Kara and Belleperi Miss were slow to begin.

Karise Fusileer and Dex's Affair collided soon after the start.  Empress Rose, Karise Fusileer and Dex's Affair collided approaching the first turn.  Dex's Affair and Temujin collided approaching the first tur checking Temujin.  Temujin and Belleperi Miss collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Empress Rose failed to pursue the lure with due commitment on the first turn checking Karise Fusileer and Dex's Affair.  Empress Rose eased on the second turn.  Empress Rose and Karise Fusileer collided entering the back straight checking Empress Rose, Karise Fusileer and Belleperi Miss.

Empress Rose was vetted and re-vetted following event 9.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Miss T. Edwards, the representative of the greyhound Empress Rose regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn and again on the second turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Empress Rose with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Miss Edwards pleaded guilty to the charge, Empress Rose was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Due To Burn was quick to begin.  Galloping Rokyto was slow to begin.

Shifter Magic crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Piparae, Water Pistol and My Girl Chezza.  Why Not Leo contacted the running rail approaching the first turn.  Galloping Rokyto crossed to the outside on the first turn checking Shifter Magic.  Water Pistol and My Girl Chezza entering the home straight checking My Girl Chezza.

Why Not Leo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist sprain and and bruising to the ventral neck, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Galloping Wytee was a late scratching at 5.46pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr R. Conway was fined the sum of $100.

Violets Are Red and Harper's Hand were quick to begin.  Rocco's Delight was slow to begin.

North Wind was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right sesamoid injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr M. Carlstorm the representative of Cheeky Cindy and issued a warning to him for not following the direction of the starter when boxing his greyhound.
