Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Layback Cruiser upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
John's Choice was quick to begin. Goldrush Rose was slow to begin. John's Choice, Hey Fernando and Layback Cruiser collided on the first turn checking Layback Cruiser. Top Gem crossed in on the first turn checking John's Choice, Hey Fernando and How High Jazz. Madam Kinloch faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off. Hey Fernando crossed to the outside entering the home straight and marred John's Choice checking both greyhounds.
Madam Kinloch was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left stopper injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Hey Fernando was vetted following the event. It was reported that ther was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Solkhon the handler of the greyhound Hey Fernando regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Hey Fernando with marring. Mr. Solkhon pleaded guilty to the charge, Hey Fernando was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
