Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Hillside Lady upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
A pre-race sample was taken from Tahlia's Diamond.
Light The Track, Dashing Dyson and Slew Left were slow to begin.
Dashing Dyson and Slew Left collided on the first turn. Light The Track and Mahi Indian collided on the third turn. Kid Ringo and Mepunga Pride collided approaching the fourth turn checking both greyhounds. Kid Ringo eased on the fourth turn checking Hillside Lady and Mepunga Pride. Kid Ringo eased and veered out on the home turn checking Hillside Lady, Mepunga Pride and Tahlia's Diamond. Kid Ringo eased checking Mepunga Pride in the home straight.
Kid Ringo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right deltoid injuries, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr R. Mcrae,the trainer of the greyhound Kid Ringo regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the fourth turn, on the home turn and in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1)stewards charged Kid Ringo with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment Mr Mcrae pleaded guilty to the charge, Kid Ringo was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a)before any future nomination will be accepted.
