Steward's Report

Trademark was slow to begin.  Onya Grover and Dutch Legacy collided soon after the start.  Pepper Shannon, Hua Hin and Pepper Shiraz collided approaching the first turn.  Pepper Shannon, Pepper Shiraz and Hua Hin collided on the second turn.  Pepper Shiraz faltered on the second turn and tailed off.  Pepper Shiraz and Trademark Jet lost ground in the back straight.

Pepper Shannon was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained right foreleg shoulder joint, right hindleg triangle, right and left hindleg groin and pelvic injuries, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Paul Ellis, the trainer of the greyhound Pepper Shannon.  Stewards deemed the performance of Pepper Shannon unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Pepper Shannon must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Trademark Jet was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right hindleg groin injuries, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Ashton, the trainer of the greyhound Trademark Jet.  Stewards deemed the performance of Trademark Jet unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Trademark Jet must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr Shane Drummond, the trainer of the greyhound Pepper Shiraz, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the back straight.  Pepper Shiraz was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained right and left hindleg groin, right hindleg triangle and pelvic injuries, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Pepper Shiraz with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Drummond pleaded guilty to the charge, Pepper Shiraz was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
