Steward's Report
Aston Nirvana was quick to begin. El Burrito was slow to begin.
Lucy's Quest and Laile Brobio collided soon after the start. El Burrito checked off Blue Fabianna approaching the first turn, checking Laile Brobio which raced wide as a result. Roxy's Daisy and Blue Fabianna collided on the second turn. Roxy's Daisy turned its head inwards and failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr Jake Loverso, the kennel representative for the greyhound Roxy's Daisy, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Roxy's Daisy was vetted and revetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder muscle, a five-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Roxy's Daisy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Loverso pleaded guilty to the charge, Roxy's Daisy was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
