Stewards spoke to Ms Angela Langton, the handler of Destini Jaguar, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Destini Jaguar last raced on 23 April 2018 and is resuming from a change of kennels and also a torn right monkey muscle injury.

Stewards spoke to Cheryl Pirani, the handler of Yongning, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Yongning last raced on 13 May 2018 and is resuming following a blood disorder.

Destini Jaguar was slow to begin.

Appointed checked off Yongning approaching the first turn. Quara's Zade checked off Yongning approaching the first turn. Appointed raced wide on the first turn. Yongning checked off Perfect Rocky on the third turn and again in the home straight.

Lucy's Nimbus and Aston Kenji were slow to begin.

Lucina Motief, Start The Show and Dundee Ace collided soon after the start. Lucina Motief and Start The Show collided approaching the first turn, checking Start The Show. Miyagi Magic checked off Quara's Beth on the first turn. Lucy's Nimbus, Dundee Ace and Aston Kenji collided on the first turn, checking Lucy's Nimbus and Dundee Ace. Dundee Ace galloped on Lucy's Nimbus on the first turn, severely checking Lucy's Nimbus and checking Dundee Ace, Lucina Motief and Start The Show. Lucina Motief and Lucy's Nimbus collided in the back straight. Start The Show and Dundee Ace collided in the back straight.

Aston Nirvana was quick to begin. El Burrito was slow to begin.

Lucy's Quest and Laile Brobio collided soon after the start. El Burrito checked off Blue Fabianna approaching the first turn, checking Laile Brobio which raced wide as a result. Roxy's Daisy and Blue Fabianna collided on the second turn. Roxy's Daisy turned its head inwards and failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr Jake Loverso, the kennel representative for the greyhound Roxy's Daisy, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Roxy's Daisy was vetted and revetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder muscle, a five-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Roxy's Daisy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Loverso pleaded guilty to the charge, Roxy's Daisy was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Hot Finish was a late scratching at 12.01pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to illness. A five-day stand down period was imposed.

The start of this event was delayed approximately one minute due to Kilmore Harness Race 1 running behind schedule.

The all clear to this event was delayed in order for the Stewards to review footage of the concluding stages. After doing so Stewards were satisified and as such All Clear was declared.

Atomic Kitten was quick to begin. Bula Bang Bang was slow to begin.

Miss Malaysia, Deadly Basilisa and Blondy Two collided on the first turn, checking Deadly Basilisa. Go Ekay (late Go Ee Kay) checked off Miss Malaysia on the second turn. Atomic Kitten raced wide on the second turn. Miss Malaysia and Blondy Two collided on the third turn, checking Blondy Two. Levushka faltered in the home straight and failed to finish. Atomic Kitten pulled up in the home straight. Go Ekay checked off Blondy Two in the home straight, shifted out towards Levushka and Atomic Kitten and subsequently tailed off.

As a result of the incident in the home straight, Levushka was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound experienced a seizure. Stewards spoke to Mr Raymond Henness, the trainer of Levushka, and advised him that acting in accordance with GAR 74, Stewards directed that Levushka must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted. Mr Henness was queried in regards to the step up in distance for Levushka. Mr Henness stated that the greyhound has been performing well in trials over the 600m and 660m and he was expecting a forward showing today.

Go Ekay was requested to be vetted following the event. Trainer Mr Paul Mathieson failed to have the greyhound vetted and was subsequently directed to have the greyhound vetted at the Geelong meeting tomorrow (16 August 2018). Go Ekay is stood down pending the results of the vetinernary examination. An inquiry will be held with Mr Mathieson on Friday at the Geelong meeting as to the reasons for Go Ekay not being presented.

Atomic Kitten was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained diaphragmatic flutter (thumps). No stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards issued a warning to Mr Thomas Boehmke, the trainer of Atomic Kitten, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. In not taking more severe action Stewards were of the opinion that Atomic Kitten lost focus on the lure due to the racing incident involving Levushka who was racing directly ahead.

Allen Zhara, Undeniably and Leave Me Out collided soon after the start. Mood Swings crossed to the outside soon after the start, checking Over And Away. Mood Swings checked off Limburg Gunna approaching the first turn. Undeniably and Leave Me Out collided approaching the first turn. Limburg Gunna and Leave Me Out collided on the first turn, checking Undeniably. Mood Swings checked off Allen Zhara on the second turn. Over And Away and Leave Me Out collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Real Obsession and Leave Me Out collided in the home straight.

Banjo Fever was quick to begin. Another Bling was slow to begin.

Charlie Rocket, Dyna Yezza and Banjo Fever collided soon after the start, checking Charlie Rocket, Dyna Yezza and Chile Allen. Dyna Yezza and Dewana Express collided soon after the start, checking Dewana Express. Charlie Rocket, Sable Sass and Serendipity Gold collided on the first turn. Dyna Yezza checked off Dewana Express on the second turn.

Zipping Bomber and Jimmy Got Style collided approaching the first turn. Idabelle Bale and Verne Allen collided on the first turn, checking Idabelle Bale. Verne Allen checked off Zipping Hawk on the second turn. Idabelle Bale and Verne Allen collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Dyna Jerry checked off Zipping Hawk entering the home straight, checking Verne Allen.

Quara's Destiny was quick to begin. Kid Lavros was slow to begin.

Quarter Mile crossed to the inside soon after the start, checking Itinerary, Lucy's Otis, Texas and Quarter Mile. Itinerary, Lucy's Otis and Quarter Mile collided on the first turn, checking Quarter Mile. Kid Lavros checked off Texas on the second turn. Itinerary and Lucy's Otis collided on the second turn, checking Lucy's Otis. Quara's Destiny and Kid Lavros collided on the third turn and again approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds.
