A pre-race sample was taken from Crymelon Phantom.
Crymelon Annie crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Crymelon Rip, Believe In You and Close Enough. Believe In You, Crymelon Rip and Crymelon Annie collided approaching the first turn, checking Believe In You and Crymelon Rip. Deacon Downs, Crymelon Annie, Believe In You and Crymelon Rip collided on the first turn, checking Believe In You and Crymelon Rip.
Eliza Dee, which trailed the field throughout, was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Ms Jeanette Spruyt, the trainer of the greyhound Eliza Dee, who declined to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards deemed the performance of Eliza Dee unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Eliza Dee must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
