Beanology was slow to begin. Misty's Boy was checked off Vegas Dealer approaching the first turn. Ichiban Fairy and Eclipse The Sun collided approaching the first turn. Woodleigh Sal and Beanology collided on the first turn checking Beanology. Eclipse The Sun and Ichiban Fairy collided approaching the home turn. Ivalise Allen and Woodleigh Sal raced wide in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Burch regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Bumper Farrell. Stewards directed that Bumper Farrell be boxed first in future events.
