Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Parade Steward Mr. C. Blake did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event.
Runnin' Royalty and Kraken Lightning were quick to begin.
Auggie, Aston Kimetto, Agent Laylan and Kraken Lightning collided soon after the start. Aston Kimetto and Agent Laylan collided soon after the start. Agent Laylan checked off Myrniong And All on the first turn. Auggie checked off the heels of Kraken Lightning on the first turn. Myrniong And All and Kraken Lightning collided approaching the home turn. Auggie and Aston Kimetto collided approaching the home turn. Aston Kimetto faltered on the home turn, stumbled and lost considerable ground. Auggie and Aston Kimetto collided in the home straight.
Aston Kimetto underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Post-race samples were taken from Runnin' Royalty (1st) and Kraken Lightning (2nd).
The track location where Aston Kimetto faltered around the home turn was inspected by Stewards. The track was found to be safe and no unusual or abnormal issues were observed.
