Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Primed Engine upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Clovally Granite and Primed Engine were quick to begin. Giant Bale and Uringa were slow to begin.
Connor Allen checked off Blue Blaze approaching the first turn. Clovally Granite, Connor Allen and Uringa collided on the first turn checking Connor Allen. Clovally Granite and Uringa collided approaching the second turn checking Uringa and Connor Allen. Clovally Granite and Agent Barry collided entering the back straight checking Agent Barry. Connor Allen turned it's head outwards approaching the home turn and soon after collided with Clovally Granite. Clovally Granite, Connor Allen and Giant Bale collided on the home turn. Clovally Granite and Connor Allen collided entering the home straight checking Clovally Granite.
Stewards spoke to Mr M. Delbridge, the trainer of the greyhound Connor Allen regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Connor Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left back muscle and left sartorius injuries, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Connor Allen with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Delbridge pleaded not guilty to the charge, Connor Allen was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
