Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms. D. Massina, the handler of Dakora regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Dakora last raced on 26th April, 2018. Ms Massina stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an injury to the right shoulder.
Blue Magnate and Cavatate were slow to begin and collided soon after the start. Quara's Destiny and Hey Aaron collided approaching the first turn. Dakora and Quara's Destiny collided approaching the first turn checking Quara's Destiny. Quara's Yoshi, Quick Transition, Hey Aaron and Riddles collided on the first turn checking Quara's Destiny. Blue Magnate and Cavatate collided approaching the home turn severely checking both greyhounds; Cavatate pulled up as a result.
Blue Magnate was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Cavatate was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left thigh muscle, left quadriceps, left triangle muscle and a spike wound to its left hind leg. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
