Steward's Report

A pre race sample was taken from Quicksilver Hope.

A pre-race sample was taken from Quicksilver Hope. Reverend John, Nitro Heroine, Quicksilver Hope and Mini Sticka collided approaching the first turn checking Quicksilver Hope. Reverend John and Mini Sticka collided on the first turn. Nitro Heroine, Toss The Dice, Petite Harbour and Miss Flower collided approaching the home turn checking Mini Sticka. Nitro Heroine and Toss The Dice collided on the home turn. Toss The Dice eased and collided with Reverend John in the home straight checking Toss The Dice.

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Stanton, the trainer of the greyhound Toss The Dice regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Toss The Dice was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left stopper and central pad and an injury to the left back muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Toss The Dice with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Stanton stated no plea, Toss The Dice was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results (Blinkers) - Blue Odessa trialled over the 425mts from box 1, weight 29.7kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.25, the greyhound  was beaten by a margin of 2.75L. Blue Odessa was Cleared To Race In Blinkers.
