Steward's Report
Bluwy was quick to begin. Hurricane Cindy was slow to begin. Kiwi Al and Egoline Zeb collided soon after the start checking Egoline Zeb. Scooby Scooby Do was checked off Egoline Zeb approaching the first turn. Volcanic Winter was checked off Kiwi Al on the first turn. Kiwi Al galloped on Little Samara on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Almapa Gallucci and Egoline Zeb collided on the home turn. Almapa Gallucci failed to pursue the lure with due committment approaching the winning post and collided with Bluwy.
Hurricane Cindy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left chest muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Almapa Gallucci was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 4, it was reported that there was no injury apparent.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Derubeis the trainer of the greyhound Almapa Gallucci regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Almapa Gallucci with failing to pursue the lure with due commttment. Mr. Derubeis pleaded guilty to the charge, Almapa Gallucci was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
