A pre-race sample was taken from Mr Worldwide.
Amigo One was quick to begin. Dyna Yella and Rig Fifty Five collided approaching the first turn, checking Dyna Yella. Amigo One eased on the first turn and collided with Dyna Forrest; Amigo One was checked as a result and lost considerable ground. Amigo One and Dyna Forrest collided approaching the home turn, checking Reality Hawk and Amigo One. Rig Fifty Five and Swift Ruby collided approaching the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Ms Kerry Prowse, the trainer of the greyhound Amigo One, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Amigo One was vetted and re-vetted following event nine. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to left and right foreleg wrist and right hindleg triangle injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Amigo One with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Prowse pleaded not guilty to the charge, Amigo One was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
