Shelbourne Bezza was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left shoulder and sartorius (pencil) muscles.  A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

Monkey Year was a late scratching at 10:53AM due to non-arrival following a phone call from trainer, Mr Evan Keene, stating that he had transport difficulties (car break down). Monkey Year was stood down for 28 days and trainer Mr Keene was fined the sum of $100, pursuant to GAR31. These penalties will be lifted if Mr Keene can provide appropriate evidence of the breakdown.

Shifter Magic was slow to begin.

Stewards spoke to Mr Michael Niele, the trainer of Shifter Magic, regarding issues boxing the greyhound. Stewards issued a caution on the boxing manners of Shifter Magic but took no further action.

Fruit Frames was a late scratching at 10:48AM due to weight variation - overweight 1.3kg (GAR 39). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Mr Garry Johnson was fined the sum of $100.

Bruree Boy was quick to begin. Cheeky Fireball was slow to begin.

Stewards spoke to Michelle Mallia-Magri trainer of Print The Money, regarding the trainer history of the greyhound after Stewards noted that the greyhound had no trainer registered in FastTrack from 16 April through until 4 June 2018. (GAR 25).  Ms Mallia-Magri stated that the greyhound had been spelled on her property following an injury sustained to it’s right back muscle. There was doubt that the greyhound would recover to racing fitness, but noted it had been trialling well over recent weeks. The greyhound Print the Money was scratched from Race 6 at Healesville Sunday 22nd July due to an injury sustained to the right toe.  Stewards noted the explanation.

Oliver Cruise was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A 21-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms Deborah Thacker, the kennel representative for My Lil' Angel,  regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. My Lil Angel last raced on 3 April 2018. Ms Thacker stated that the greyhound had been seasonal.

Angel Cloud was slow to begin.

My Lil' Angel and Eureka Osti collided soon after the start. Eureka Osti and Renegade collided several times from the 250m mark to the 200m mark. Just Blacky and Topaz Warrior collided several times from the 250m mark to the 200m mark, checking Rocky Rooster. Angel Cloud, Just Blacky and Agent Osti collided at the 250m mark. Rocky Rooster checked off Eureka Osti approaching the 150m mark. Eureka Osti galloped on the heels of Renegade approaching the 150m mark; Renegade fell as a result, checking Just Blacky and Agent Osti, and severely checking Rocky Rooster and Eureka Osti. Renegade was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left quadriceps and sartorius (pencil) muscles. A five-day stand down period was imposed.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results - Go Maxi trialled over the 300m from box eight, weight 22.8kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 20.12, the greyhound won by a margin of 0.5L. Go Maxi was cleared.
