Stewards spoke to Mr David Jensen, the trainer of Big Sam Marjen, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Big Sam Marjen last raced on 1 April 2018.  Mr Jensen stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an extended spell.

Rogue One was quick to begin.  Big Sam Marjen was slow to begin.  Lightning Seven and Evil Shadow collided on the first turn, checking Evil Shadow.  Lobster Hill and Lorenza collided approaching the home turn, checking Lorenza.  Lorenza failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight and collided with Rogue One.

Stewards spoke to Mr Jeff Galea, the representative of the greyhound Lorenza, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Lorenza was vetted and or re-vetted following event three.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg pencil/whip injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Lorenza with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Galea pleaded guilty to the charge, Lorenza was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

Maxi Fozz was a late scratching at 3:26 pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, due to a urinary condition.  A seven day stand down period was imposed.

Aston Lagonda and Crymelon You Cro collided soon after the start, checking Crymelon You Cro.  Gemilly and Magic Milly collided on the first turn, checking Gemilly.

Stewards spoke to Mr Raymond Drew, the trainer of Crackerjack Doug, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Crackerjack Doug last raced on 4 April 2018.  Mr Drew stated that the greyhound was new to the kennel.

Queen Coriander was quick to begin.  Bear Left was slow to begin.  Veetee Mist, Bear Left and Chasing James collided soon after the start, checking Bear Left.  Chasing james and Veetee Mist collided on the first turn.

Chasing James was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results - Cookie Yap trialled over the 410m from box eight, weight 28.9 kgs, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 23.75, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of six lengths.  Cookie Yap was Cleared.
