Why Not Senor was slow to begin. Full Tilt and Riverina Miss collided soon after the start. Jiggy's Luck and Dyna Zapto collided soon after the start, and again on the first turn, checking Dyna Zapto. Shakey Breaky and Why Not Senor collided on the first turn. Riverina Miss and Why Not Senor collided on the home turn. Prince Mikado and Regal Memphis raced wide in the home straight.

Whiney Whine and Lully Singh were quick to begin. Detriot Wally was slow to begin. Rapid Belle Noir and Detroit Wally collided approaching the third turn, checking Detroit Wally, which raced wide as a result. Psychedelic Jay checked off Rapid Belle Noir approaching the fourth turn. 

Ballyjamesduff and Dewana No Secret were quick to begin. Potere and Pacific Action collided soon after the start, checking Potere and Plummy's Girl. Miss Gingin and Pacific Action collided on the first turn, checking Pacific Action, and severely checking Miss Gingin, which contacted the running rail and lost considerable ground as a result. Dewana No Secret and Yelredda Saint collided on the first turn, checking Dewana No Secret. Dewana No Secret and Ballyjamesduff collided on the second turn, severely checking Dewana No Secret and Ballyjamesduff, and checking Potere. Plummy's Girl checked off Pacific Action in the back straight. 

Dewana No Secret was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right calf, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Miss Gingin was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Diesel Turbo, Humble And Kind, No Passengers and Pink Floyd were slow to begin. No Passengers, Humble And Kind and Pink Floyd collided on the first turn, checking Pink Floyd. Ratajkowski and Pink Floyd collided on the first turn, checking Pink Floyd. Rodeo and It's A Wink collided on the first turn. Rodeo checked off It's A Wink in the back straight. Diesel Turbo checked off No Passengers on the home turn.

Dewana Special was a late scratching a 6:17pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a right hock injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Dyna Neitz, Deano's Smidge and Strength To Wyn collided soon after the start. Excelencia checked off Lightwood Miss approaching the first turn, checking Deano's Smidge, Huge Allen and Strength To Wyn. Excelencia checked off Strength To Wyn on the second turn.

A pre race sample was taken from Ryben Jack.

Buckle Up Scotch and Ryben Jack were slow to begin. Buckle Up Scotch and Predemonic collided on the first turn, checking Predemonic. Ryben Jack checked off Luna Evening on the first turn, checking Ryben Jack, which raced wide as a result. Shevchenko failed to pursue the lure with due commitment on the home turn, and again in the home straight, checking Kouta And Cream. 

Stewards spoke to Ms. Kate Gorman, the trainer of the greyhound Shevchenko regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn and again in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Shevchenko with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Gorman pleaded guilty to the charge, Shevchenko was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Roland View was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right elbow, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

A pre race sample was taken from Tinaca De Kahn.

Tinaca De Kahn was slow to begin. Champagne Papi and Iona Misty collided approaching the first turn, checking Champagne Papi. Tinaca De Kahn crossed to the inside on the first turn, checking Champagne Papi and Maggie Mikado. Black Market and Why Not Leo collided approaching the home turn. Iona Misty and Tinaca De Kahn collided in the home straight. Champagne Papi galloped on Why Not Leo in the home straight, checking Champagne Papi severely checking Why Not Leo.

The trainer of Why Not Leo, Mr. G. Carter removed the greyhound from the kennels, and left the track without having the greyhound vetted. Stewards tried to contact Mr. Carter via phone to no avail. As soon as Stewards make contact with Mr Carter he will be directed to present the greyhound for a veterinary check. Stewards will also be enquiring to the reason Mr Carter left the track without Stewards permission. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Kimani trialled over the 311m from box eight, weight 24.6kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 17.94, the greyhound won by a margin of 8 lengths. Kimani was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - It's A Trick trialled over the 311m from box one, weight 30.2kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four. The time of the trial was 17.94, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8.5 lengths. It's A Trick was Cleared. (It's A Trick was checked on the first turn.)

Satisfactory Trial Results - Duke Of Dallas trialled over the 311m from box six, weight 31.4kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 17.94, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8 lengths. Duke Of Dallas was Cleared. (Duke Of Dallas was checked entering the home straight.)

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT - THE MEADOWS 7 JULY 2018

Stewards re-opened an inquiry from the Cranbourne meeting on July 4th 2018, regarding the reason surrounding, Mr G. Carter allowing Why Not Leo to be removed from the kennels and left the track without having the greyhound vetted. Trainer Mr G. Carter gave evidence regarding the circumstances as to why the greyhound was not presented for a vet check and why he had left the course. Mr Carter added that when he returned home he noticed that he had missed calls and returned to the course immediately however the veterinarian had left the course.  Stewards deliberated on the evidence given by Mr Carter and handed down a warning in this instance.

A veterinary examination of  Why Not Leo was undertaken and no apparent injury was found.
