Stewards spoke to Mr. S. McDonnell, the trainer of Goodfella regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Goodfella last raced on 28-March-18. Mr McDonnell stated that the greyhound was resuming racing from a back muscle injury. Mr. Mc Donnell also declared a new weight of 32.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Goodfella last raced at 33.4kg.

Blistering Betty, Tankalicious and Ben Roman were slow to begin.

All About Now and Shazza Weetbix collided soon after the start. Ace Victorem and Blistering Betty collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.
