A pre-race sample was taken from Why That.
All About Corey, Revel and El Grand Knocka were slow to begin. Why That crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Twenty Tamar and Why That and severely checking Dark Poral which fell as a result. All About Corey and El Grand Knocka collided approaching the home turn.
Dark Portal was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a broken right humerus and was humanely euthanased.
