Steward's Report
This meeting is declared hot weather affected. Prior to the running of this event the outside temperature was 33.9 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.5 degrees.
A pre-race sample was taken from Sight Screen.
Stewards spoke to Mr R. Weightman, the trainer of Silent Sandy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Silent Sandy last raced on 21st May 2017, Mr Weightman stated a left hind toe had been removed.
Baloney Bill and Big Boy Rocket were slow to begin.
Emerley Tru Blu, Sight Screen and Big Boy Rocket collided on the first turn checking Emerley Tru Blu, Big Boy Rocket and Baloney Bill. Wilbur Deeds and Silent Sandy collided on the first turn checking Silent Sandy. Big Boy Rocket and Emerley Tru Blu collided on the home turn checking Big Boy Rocket. Big Boy Rocket stumbled entering the home straight. Emerley Tru Blu and Baloney Bill collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.
Emerley Tru Blu was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right monkey muscle and left back muscle injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
