Yellowcake, Crymelon Idol and Serendipity Gold collided approaching the first turn, checking Crymelon Idol and Serendipity Gold. Paid Too Much, Zipping Megan and Avatar Dodge collided on the first turn, checking Zipping Megan. Zipping Megan, Yellowcake, Crymelon Idol and Serendipity Gold collided on the first turn, checking Yellowcake and Crymelon Idol. Paid Too Much galloped on the heels of Avatar Dodge approaching the home turn. Avatar Dodge failed to pursue the lure approaching the home turn. Avatar Dodge raced wide on the home turn and collided with Serendipity Gold, checking both greyhounds. Yellowcake raced wide on the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Boehm, the trainer of the greyhound Avatar Dodge regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Avatar Dodge was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right toe and right quadricep, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Avatar Dodge with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Boehm pleaded not guilty to the charge, Avatar Dodge was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
