Steward's Report

Velocity Whisper was a late scratching at 6.02pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to illness.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Real Simple.

Audacious Bell and Woodleigh Blaze were slow to begin.  Zipping Jacy and Cloverlay collided soon after the start checking Cloverlay.  Wilburn was checked off Ripplebrook Will on the first turn and collided with Zipping Jacy checking Zipping Jacy.  Woodleigh Blaze was checked off Audacious Bell approaching the home turn.  Audacious Bell was checked off Real Simple entering the home straight.

Satisfactory trial results (GAR 77A):-

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Haas the trainer of Burnt Orange regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Burnt Orange last raced on 03/10/16.  Mr. Haas stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an injury to both back muscles.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Burnt Orange trialled over 400 metres from box 8, weight 31.9kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.32 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 2 lengths.  Burnt Orange was cleared.

Meeting comments:

Track Curator Mr. M. Bickerdike advised Stewards that the track was medium harrowed on 28/06/18.
