Steward's Report
Starbright Kate was a late scratching at 10.51am due to non arrival (GAR 31). A 28-day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr G Hammerstein was fined the sum of $100.
Stewards spoke to Mrs W Miller, the trainer of Two Mississippi, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Two Mississippi last raced on the 5th March 2018. Mrs Miller stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season.
Mr J Formosa, trainer of Penberthy, declared a new weight of 34.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Penberthy last raced at 32.6kg.
A pre-race urine sample was taken from Two Mississippi.
Penberthy and Blitzen Bell collided soon after the start. Penberthy and Gammy's Choice collided approaching the first turn, checking Gammy's Choice. Slipaway Whitey checked off Gammy's Choice approaching the home turn, checking Blitzen Bell. Penberthy and Jesterday collided approaching the home turn, checking Penberthy.
