Stewards spoke to Mr D Schwarz, the trainer of Galloping Nikki, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Galloping Nikki last raced at Geelong on 2 January, 2018. Mr Schwarz stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a recent illness.

Janray Lucky One crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided heavily with Further Dreamer. Janray Squawker and Dorothy Dawn collided soon after the start. Rainbow Parade checked off Janray Squawker soon after the start. Janray Lucky One checked off Further Dreamer approaching the 250m mark. Dorothy Dawn checked off Janray Squawker at the 250m mark. Janray Spot checked off Janray Squawker approaching the 150m mark. Further Dreamer faltered at the 100m mark.

Janray Lucky One was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right shoulder joint and an abraded right carpal pad. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards issued a warning to Mr Raymond Matthews, the trainer of Janray Lucky One, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start. Stewards spoke further to Mr Matthews regarding the Handler's difficulty in boxing the greyhound Janray Lucky One. Stewards directed that Janray Lucky One be boxed first in future events.

Further Dreamer was vetted and revetted following event three. It was reported that the greyhound sustained shin soreness in both shins, injuries to both shoulder muscles, and abrasions to the right talus bone. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Janray Squawker, the winner of the event.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Miss Walt; a post-race sample was subsequently collected from the greyhound which was the winner of the event.

Evie Willow was slow to begin.

Lucinda and Just Jimmy collided soon after the start, and again at the 300m mark, checking Miss Walt. Just Jimmy checked off Lucinda approaching the 250m mark. Lucinda and Octo Flash collided at the 250m mark. Lucinda veered out and marred the running of Octo Flash at the 200m mark. Evie Willow, Just Jimmy, Doran's Flame and Cilla Gem collided at the 200m mark, checking Just Jimmy and Doran's Flame. Just Jimmy checked off Doran's Flame at the 100m mark. Doran's Flame checked off Evie Willow at the 50m mark.

Lucinda was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No veterinary stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr N Haigh, the kennel representative for the greyhound Lucinda, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 200m mark. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Lucinda with marring. Mr Haigh pleaded guilty to the charge, Lucinda was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

The GRV Veterinary Officer examined Hillbilly Boy and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 11.09am due to weight variation (GAR 39) after the greyhound presented 2.3kg below its last start weight at Geelong on 10 April, 2018. A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr Michael Hendy, was fined the sum of $100.

Idaho Blue and Ima Sapphire went up with the lids at box rise and were slow to begin. Sarah Smirnoff was slow to begin.

Idaho Blue and Senor Ollie collided at the 250m mark and again at the 200m mark.

Ima Sapphire was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.

A pre-race sample was taken from Rose Of Dyanna.

Dozer Gold crossed to the outside soon after the start, checked off Krazy Blaze. Lektra Damage crossed to the outside at the 200m.

Stewards delayed the 'all clear' for this event to view the photofinish print for 3rd and 4th placings.  After viewing the print and the official video film, Stewards gave the 'all clear' on the placings 7-3-6-5.

Road To Nhill to Banjo Milne were slow to begin.

Banjo Milne and Banjo Barbie collided soon after the start. Road To Nhill checked off Octo Burn approaching the 200m mark.

Cut Snake went up with the lids at box rise, was slow to begin and crossed to the rail soon after the start.

Discovered and Toffee Lady collided soon after the start. Discovered crossed to the outside at the 300m mark, checking Toffee Lady and Spot My Key. Toffee Lady and Cut Snake collided at the 250m mark. Toffee Lady checked off Cut Snake at the 200m mark, Discovered and Spot My Key collided at the 150m mark.

Gin Lee's Pride was slow to begin.

See Ya Mate crossed to the inside soon after the start, checking Cruisy's Patch and Ryben Jack. Ryben Jack and See Ya Mate collided at the 300m.

Raging Inferno, Dynamite Dozer and Wolf Point were slow to begin.

Rhomboid and Stolen collided at the 250m mark. Raging Inferno checked off Dynamite Dozer at the 250m mark. Stolen checked off Rhomboid approaching the 200m mark. Twenty Tamar checked off Lady Mikado at the 200m mark. Twenty Tamar and Lady Mikado collided several times at the 150m mark. Raging Inferno and Stolen collided at the 100m mark. Twenty Tamar and Lady Mikado collided at the 100m mark. Twenty Tamar checked off Lady Mikado at the 50m mark, severely checking Twenty Tamar. Miller's Court checked off Big Mary approaching the 200m mark and again at the 200m mark. Hard Boiled checked off Lost Horizon at the 150m mark. Miller's Court and Lost Horizon collided approaching the winning post. Miller's Court and Hard Boiled collided approaching the winning post. One Smarty raced wide throughout the event.

Lilrigg went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.

Rapid Rock, Shafira, Tiger Cabang and Major Energy collided soon after the start, checking Rapid Rock, Tiger Cabang and Major Energy. Rapid Rock and Sheza Dragon collided at the 250m mark, severely checking Sheza Dragon. Shafira and Buzz The Tower collided at the 150m mark.

Campeon was quick to begin. Turfman and Azza were slow to begin.

Tzar Knight and Oh Nikita collided soon after the start. River Crossing and Tzar Knight collided at the 200m mark and again at the 150m mark, checking Tzar Knight.

Luna Evening turned in the boxes at box rise, was slow to begin and tailed the field as a result. Uncatchable stumbled at box rise and was slow to begin.

Doran's Call and Midnight Kebab collided soon after the start.

Uncatchable was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left foot, and brusing on the right thigh and tibia. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

Luna Evening was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.

Stewards established that Luna Evening turned in the boxes. Acting under GAR 52(1), Luna Evening was placed on a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks).
