Mr Brian Buchanan, trainer of Tiger Minstrel, declared a new weight of 29.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Tiger Minstrel last raced at 30.5kg.

Mr Jye Formosa, kennel representative for Very Canny, declared a new weight of 29.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Very Canny last raced at 30.4kg.

Very Canny was slow to begin.

Octo Flash crossed to the outside soon after the start, checking Evie Willow and Just Jimmy. Bat The Brat and Covfefe collided at the 250m mark, checking Bat The Brat. Gunna Be Hoping and Just Jimmy collided approaching the 150m mark.

Idaho Blue was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a sacro-iliac injury. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

Jupiter Asending and Trapezius collided from soon after the start to the 300m mark. Jupiter Asending and Trapezius crossed to the outside at the 300m mark. Bella Express crossed to the outside at the 300m mark, checking Lektra Rival, Vital Force, Trademark Rocky and Cosmic Breeze. Don's Machine and Speedway Lass collided approaching the 150m mark. Bella Express and Cosmic Breeze collided at the 150m mark.

Major Gas was a late scratching at 7:53am due to injury (GAR 23).  A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Scott Dynamism, Lilrigg and Totally Fab collided soon after the start. Scott Dynamism and Lilrigg collided at the 250m mark. Maximum Joan crossed to the outside at the 150m mark and collided with Lilrigg and Totally Fab, checking Lilrigg which faltered and lost ground as a result.

Lilrigg was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.

Blue Afro, Mossy Oak and Fabulous Show were slow to begin.

Mossy Oak and Fabulous Show collided soon after the start. Blue Afro, Scott A Secret and Gold Odessa collided soon after the start and again at the 250m mark, checking Blue Afro and Scott A Secret.

Stewards spoke to Mr John Mundy, the representative of Fiery Melody, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Fiery Melody last raced on 14 March 2018 and is returning after being seasonal.
Dyan Zaynabi and Unusable collided soon after the start. Bull Da Dash, Primrose Diamond and Tally Ho Jack collided soon after the start, checking Primrose Diamond. Tally Ho Jack, Dyna Zaynabi and Unusable collided at the 300m mark. Tally Ho Jack and Rattle Gate collided at the 100m mark. Dyna Zaynabi and Unusable collided approaching the 50m mark. Bull Da Dash failed to pursue the lure with due commitment from the 50m mark to the winning post.

Bull Da Dash was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.

Stewards spoke to Mr Jason Stemmer, the trainer of the greyhound regarding the greyhound’s racing manners from the 50m mark to the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Bull Da Dash with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Stemmer pleaded guilty to the charge, Bull Da Dash was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Big Tilly was very slow to begin (3L).

Lost Horizon and Elle's Toy collided at the 150m mark. Elle's Toy and Shadrack collided at the 50m mark.

Latissimus Dorsi went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (3L).

Trail Blazer and Hard Boiled collided soon after the start. Red Queen and Trail Blazer collided approaching the 200m mark, checking Trail Blazer. Red Queen, Trail Blazer and Hard Boiled collided approaching the 100m mark, checking Janray Squawker, Red Queen, Trail Blazer and Hard Boiled.
