Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms. J. Spruyt, the trainer of Eliza Dee regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Eliza Dee last raced on 2nd March, 2018. Ms. Spruyt stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season.
Talanjee Chief was quick to begin. Eliza Dee was slow to begin. Cordillo, Dapper Diesel, Talanjee Chief, Thomeli Skip and Mossy Girl collided on the first turn, checking Cordillo and Dapper Diesel. Thomeli Monster and Mossy Girl collided approaching the home turn, checking Mossy Girl. Eliza Dee and Mossy Girl collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Mossy Girl which fell, checking Dapper Diesel and causing Cordillo to race wide; Eliza Dee, Dapper Diesel and Cordillo tailed off as a result. Talanjee Chief and Spring Me collided approaching the winning post.
Mossy Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained thoraco-lumbar injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.
