Duke Of Burnley was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Mesmerized was a late scratching at 5.45pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to an elevated temperature.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Where's Lachie, Modern Jagger and Ivey's Affair were slow to begin.  Dr. Dedra and Absolute Breeze collided soon after the start checking Absolute Breeze.  Where's Lachie, Absolute Breeze and Moder jagger collided on the first turn checking Where's Lachie and Modern Jagger.  Where's Lachie and Modern Jagger collided approaching the home turn checking Where's Lachie.  Ivey's Affair raced wide on the home turn.  Dr. Dedra crossed out in the home straight and raced wide for the remander of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. John Magri the representative for Come Home regarding the trainer history of the greyhound after Stewards noted that the greyhound had changed trainer four times between he and his wife Michelle Mallia-Magri from 06/02/18 and 22/06/18, most notably changing trainer from John Magri to Michelle Mallia-Magri on 22/06/18 (GAR 25).  Mr Magri stated that they used the transfer to avoid being drawn into the same race. Stewards noted the explanation.

A pre-race sample was taken from Busta Mikado.

Busta Mikado and Fab Reiko were slow to begin.  Dr. Annie was checked off Busta Mikado on the first turn.  Fab Reiko galloped on Dr. Annie on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Busta Mikado was checked off Weeona Bont on the first turn.  Dex's Affair was checked off Weeona Bont on the first turn.  Busta Mikado raced wide on the home turn.

Oriental Tarj was a late scratching at 5.38pm due to  weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer Mr. I. Anderson was fined the sum of $100.

Acquire and Cosmic Yessam were slow to begin.  Zipping Yoda, Fifty Dollar and Cosmic Yessam collided on the first turn checking Fifty Dollar.  Cosmic Yessam was checked off Zipping Yoda entering the home straight.  Acquire raced wide in the home straight.

Mr. P. Grice the trainer of Buddy Blinx declared a new weight of 35.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Buddy Blinx last raced at 33.6kg.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. K. Gorman the trainer of Ice Cool Kaedyn regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Ice Cool Kaedyn last raced on 26/01/18.  Mrs. Gorman stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following right stopper and left wrist injuries.

Stewards spoke to representative Mr. J. Thompson regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Big Flood last raced on 24/02/18.  Mr. Thompson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left ulnar injury.

The start of this event was re-scheduled to start at 10.10pm due to fog restricting visibility.

Stewards re-assessed the visibility at 10.08pm and re-scheduled the event to start at 10.25pm.

Stewards again re-assessed the visibility at 10.23pm, visibility had not improved and after consultation with the lure driver, Stewards decided at 10.25pm to abandon races 10, 11 & 12 .

This event was abandoned at 10.25pm due to poor visibility caused by the fog, restricting the vision of the lure driver.
