Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Langenhoff, the trainer of Conjurer regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Conjurer last raced on 23rd February 2018. Mr. Langenhoff stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a chipped bone left hind.
A pre-race sample was taken from Conjurer.
Elphaba Oz and Ima Ghost Buster were slow to begin. Good Old Days crossed in soon after the start checking Casper's Fantasy and Conjurer. Ashton Charlee and Dr. Chella collided soon after the start checking Dr. Chella and Casper's Fantasy. Ashton Charlee and Good Old Days collided on the first turn checking Good Old Days and Dr. Chella and severely checking Ashton Charlee which lost considerable ground. Dr. Chella and Ima Ghost Buster collided on the second turn. Dr. Chella marred Casper's Fantasy in the home straight checking Casper's Fantasy.
Ashton Charlee was vetted folowing the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a cervico-thoracic injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Dr. Chella was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Mr. McMahon declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon, the representative of the greyhound Dr. Chella regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Dr. Chella with marring. Mr. McMahon pleaded guilty to the charge, Dr. Chella was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
