Bertie Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left triangle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Blazing Obsidian - the winner of the event. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. C.Grenfell, the trainer of the greyhound Bertie Allen, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Bertie Allen with marring. Mr. Grenfell pleaded guilty to the charge, Bertie Allen was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Got Some Cheek checked off Smart Mary soon after the start. Zipping Ella and Smart Mary collided on the first turn, checking Smart Mary. Zipping Ella and Kurri Kurri collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds, and causing Zipping Ella to race wide.

Lonnie Knight and Noosa Jet collided approaching the first turn, checking Noosa Jet. Monster Jam Jack, Dynamite Jackson and Dyna Vagrant collided on the first turn, checking Dynamite Jackson. Banjo Fever, Fat Rhino and Noosa Jet collided on the first turn, checking Banjo Fever and Fat Rhino.
