Steward's Report
Platelayer and Swift Mandy were slow to begin. Slingshot Sassy was quick to begin. Slingshot Sassy and Mareth collided soon after the start, checking Mareth. Slingshot Sassy and Platelayer collided soon after the start, checking Platelayer. Shultz's A Rebel checked off Swift Mandy approaching the first turn. Mareth and Venus Allen collided on the first turn, checking Mareth. Why Not Fletch and Slingshot Sassy collided on the first turn, checking Why Not Fletch. Platelayer and Slingshot Sassy collided approaching the home turn. Platelayer and Swift Mandy collided approaching the home turn, checking Platelayer. Platelayer gallloped on the heels of Why Not Fletch in the home straight, checking both greyhounds. Slingshot Sassy eased approaching the winning post and collided with Lava Lamp.
Why Not Fletch was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right foreleg, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Jason Wickham, the trainer of the greyhound Slingshot Sassy regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Slingshot Sassy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Wickham pleaded guilty to the charge, Slingshot Sassy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
