Hilary's Beers was a late scratching at 3:01pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Peaked and Zipping Lucky were quick to begin.  Tee Tee and Soda Spike collided soon after the start.  Peaked and Zipping Lucky collided on the first turn.  Tee Tee was checked off Soda Spike on the first turn causing Tee Tee to race wide and lose considerable ground.  Misty's Boy crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Darcon Flash  and causing Zipping Lucky to gallop on Misty's Boy checking New Fire Girl, Soda Spike and Misty's Boy and severely checking Zipping Lucky.  Darcon Flash raced wide on the home turn.  Zipping Lucky and Tee Tee collided entering the home straight.

Zipping Lucky was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Queen Of Sprite and Gypsy Kiowa were quick to begin.  Woodleigh Girl was slow to begin.  Like My Sis, Zipping Brandy and One More Light collided soon after the start.  Here Comes Tom, Little Freck and Like My Sis collided on the first turn checking Like My Sis.  Like My Sis raced wide in the back straight.  Gypsy Kiowa crossed to the outside on the second turn causing Zipping Brandy to race wide.  One More Light raced wide approaching the home turn.  Zipping Brandy raced wide on the home turn.

Stewards declared “hold all tickets” following the event to assess the lure positioning between the third turn and entering the home straight. After viewing all available footage Stewards were not satisfied that the leading greyhound “Fourth Dimention” had not had its chances inconvenienced and that the outcome of the event had not been affected by the positioning of the lure, as a result the event was declared a no race, pursuant to GAR55. Lure driver Mr. S. Maloney was referred onto appropriate management. 

Fourth Dimention was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a thoraco-lumbar injury and an injured left and right thigh, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A post race sample was taken from Galloping Flash.

Dubai Prince was a late scratching at 2:28pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a severe sand toe on the right hind foot. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Killara John.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately 6 minutes due to the delay with the all clear in Race 3.

Cosa Bona and El Tigera collided soon after the start.  Dark Star and Where's Marcia collided on the first turn.  Saboteur, Killara John and She's Our Poppy collided entering the back straight checking Killara John,  Saboteur faltered and fell as a result checking Cosa Bona.  She's Our Poppy raced wide approaching the home turn.

Saboteur was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock, a 60 day stand down period was imposed. 

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Wilbur and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 2:42pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. Kenneth Mitchell was fined the sum of $100.

Midnight Max, Zambora Jagger, Vane Power and Persuader collided on the first turn checking all four greyhounds.  Phil's In Luck, Busta Voe and Thank Me Later collided on the first turn checking Phil's In Luck.  Thank Me Later was checked off Busta Voe in the back straight.  Thank Me Later, Persuader and Phil's In Luck collided in the back straight checking Phil's In Luck.  Thank Me Later and Persuader collided approaching the second turn.  Thank Me Later and Midnight Max raced wide from approaching the home turn to the home straight.

Bekim Instinct and Dr. Annie were quick to begin.  Al's San Bow crossed in soon after the start checking Straitline Willy.  Zipping Jake, Akina Blitz and Al's San Bow collided soon after the start.  Bekim Instinct and Zipping Jake collided approaching the first turn.  Al's San Bow was checked off Dynamo Jezz on the first turn checking Bekim Instinct and Akina Blitz.  Straitline Willy and Hollywood Nights collided on the first turn causing Hollywood Nights to fall, Straitline Willy stumbled and lost considerable ground.  Bekim Instinct raced wide on the third turn.

Hollywood Nights was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left pencil muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Dr. Oliver was slow to begin.  Black Bindi crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Viewing.  First Refusal, Special Member and Magic Euphoria collided on the first turn checking Special Member.  Special Member was checked off Magic Euphoria approaching the second turn.  First Refusal was checked off Octo Burn approaching the home turn.  First Refusal raced wide on the home turn checking Magic Euphoria and Viewing.  Special Member and Octo Burn collided entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

Dr. Cadenza and Boycey Road were quick to begin.  Ends Well was slow to begin.  Dr. Watson, Vintage Storm and Oakmont Whisper collided soon after the start.  Ends Well was checked off Duff Bale approaching the first turn.  Trademark Rocky and Vintage Storm collided on the first turn checking Oakmont Whisper, Oakmont Whisper raced wide as a result.  Trademark Rocky and Vintage Storm collided on the second turn.  Oakmont Whisper was checked off Vintage Storm on the third turn.

Macreadie was quick to begin.  Woodleigh Bond was slow to begin.  Iggy Wiggy, Take Home Sadie and Sure Load collided soon after the stat checking Iggy Wiggy and Take Home Sadie.  Ruby Two Shoes faltered on the first turn and lost ground causing Take Home Sadie to gallop on Ruby Two Shoes checking both greyhounds.  Sure Load and Woodleigh Bond collided on the first turn checking Woodleigh Bond.  Ancarian Lancer eased approaching the home turn.

Ruby Two Shoes was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left wrist, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Woodleigh Bond was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Ancarian Lancer was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 11, it was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Ms. K. Smith the handler of the greyhound Ancarian Lancer regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Ancarian Lancer with failing to pursue the lure with due committment.  Ms. Smith pleaded not guilty to the charge, Ancarian Lancer was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Justin Bowman and issued him with a severe reprimand after he placed his greyhound Take Home Sadie in the incorrect box. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. Robert Bean, the representative of Two Toes Tony regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Two Toes Tony last raced on 20 November 2017 and is returning after a front toe injury.

Mrs Susan Trim was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration card/weight card were produced for the greyhound Spritely Malibu pursuant to GAR 33.

Long Live Sid was slow to begin.  Two Toes Tony was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Sir Badger and Spritely Malibu collided on the first turn checking Sir Badger.  Prince Stealth and Spritely Malibu collided in the back straight severely checking Prince Stealth and Sir Badger causing Two Toes Tony to race wide.  Long Live Sid and Prince Stealth collided in the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Sir Badger and Spritely Malibu collided in the back straight.  Sir Badger and Spritely Malibu collided on the second turn checking Spritely Malibu.  Long Live Sid and Two Toes Tony collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.  Sir Badger and Spritely Malibu collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Cataleya and Dr. Poppel were slow to begin.  Cataleya was checked off Bomber Lane soon after the start.  Shiro was checked off Dashing Diamond on the first turn checking All About Arby and Bomber Lane.  Dr. Poppel and Cataleya collided on the first turn.  Cataleya stumbled entering the back straight.  Cataleya faltered approaching the second turn.  Shiro and Bomber Lane collided on the second turn and again approaching the home turn.  Dashing Diamond was checked off Emperor Cruz approaching the winning post.  Shiro and Bomber Lane collided approaching the winning post.

Cataleya was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 12, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right pencil muscle, right biceps and right shin, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Justin Bowman, the representative of Paua Hiking regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Paua Hiking last raced on 8 September 2017 and is returning after a back muscle injury.

Paddy's Midnight was quick to begin.  My Miss Molly was checked off Five Lights on the first turn.  Five Lights, Gomer Bale and Nitro Heroine collided on the first turn.  King Of Diamonds raced wide on the first turn.  Paua Hiking and My Miss Molly collided approaching the home turn.  Five Lights, Gomer Bale and Nitro Heroine collided entering the home straight.

Wadelock Mindy was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of the meeting and was not cleared to race.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. Brad Keel, the representative for Shark Tank regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Shark Tank last raced on 18 July 2017 and is returning after a left fibula injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Shark Tank trialled over the 315m from box 7, weight 32.7kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 18.25 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.75 lengths lengths. Shark Tank was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Fulford, the representative for Barnie's Bullet regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Barnie's Bullet last raced on 20 April 2017 and is returning after a change of trainer. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Barnie's Bullet trialled over the 315m from box 1, weight 24.9kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 18.25 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.5 lengths. Barnie's Bullet was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results -

Alonso Power trialled over the 315m from box 3, weight 28.9kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 18.25 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6.75 lengths. Alonso Power was cleared. 

Who Got Class trialled over the 315m from box 2, weight 33.8kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 18.25 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.25 lengths. Who's Got Class was cleared. 

Mother Monster trialled over the 315m from box 5, weight 28.5kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 18.25 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.75 lengths. Mother Monster was cleared.
