Verne Allen galloped on the heels of Moneypenny on the first turn, checking Verne Allen, causing Moneypenny to stumble as a result and faltered shortly thereafter. Moneypenny pulled up in the back straight and failed to finish the event. Verne Allen faded over the concluding stages of the event.
