Stewards spoke to Mr Jeffrey Geall, the representative of Miss Morrisset, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Miss Morrisset last raced on 19 October 2017. Mr Geall stated that Miss Morrisset was returning to race after suffering an injury to the right declaw.
Stewards spoke to Mr Gary Webb, the trainer of Mepunga Billy, after the greyhound was placed in the incorrect kennel and bay during the kennelling process. Mr Webb was issued with a warning and reminded when kennelling he ensures greyhounds are kennelled in accordance with kennel procedure.
This meeting was deemed ‘hot weather affected’, prior to the running of this event the outside temperature was 31.0 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.2 degrees.
Seabrook Indi and All Inn Youi were quick to begin. Mepunga Billy was slow to begin. Lektra Oscar and Miss Morrisset collided soon after the start, checking both greyhounds. Luck's Run Out and All Inn Youi collided approaching the first turn, checking Luck's Run Out. Jimmy Got Style and All Inn Youi collided approaching the home turn, checking All Inn Youi. Lektra Oscar and All Inn Youi collided on the home turn, checking All Inn Youi. Jimmy Got Style and Luck's Run Out collided in the home straight, checking Luck's Run Out. Jimmy Got Style checked off Mepunga Billy approaching the winning post.
