Steward's Report
Destini Jaguar and In The Shadows were slow to begin.
On Trend and In The Shadows collided approaching the first turn, checking On Trend. Valar Morghulis and Crymelon Annie collided on the first turn, checking Valar Morghulis. Blondy Two and In The Shadows collided on the first turn, checking In The Shadows and severely checking Blondy Two.
Blondy Two was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right front toe and a spike wound to the left hind leg. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.
Destini Jaguar was uncompetitive throughout the event and underwent a veterinary examination. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left long head triceps (monkey) and quadriceps muscles. A 14-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Cameron MacLeod regarding today’s performance and also the greyhound’s racing history. Mr MacLeod explained that the greyhound had suffered interference in its races and has also found to be injured following those events. At its most recent run Destini Jaguar lacerated its tail which required partial amputation. Mr MacLeod added that the greyhound has been trialling well. Stewards noted the explanation tendered and advised Mr. MacLeod that they will monitor the performance of Destini Jaguar going forward.
