Steward's Report
Arnie Allen crossed to the rail soon after the start and collided with Ivalise Allen, checking Zamazan. Scooby Scooby Do crossed to the outside soon after the start, checking Tantalise and Ballyjamesduff. Invalise Allen and Arnie Allen collided approaching the first turn. Scooby Scooby Do, Tantalise, Ballyjamesduff and Yoda collided on the first turn, checking Undenied Access, Scooby Scooby Do, Tantalise and Ballyjamesduff, causing Undenied Access to race wide as a result. Ivalise Allen and Arnie Allen collided on the first turn. Ivalise Allen, Tantalise and Ballyjamesduff collided on the first turn, checking Ivalise Allen and Tantalise and severely checking Ballyjamesduff and Undenied Access. Tantalise and Ballyjamesduff collided approaching the third turn.
Tantalise was vettted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left trapezius muscle and an injured thoraco-lumbar, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke with Mrs. C. Pirani, the trainer of Tantalise regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the second turn. Stewards were of the opinion that the severe interference to the outside of Tantalise on the first turn was the major factor in the actions of Tantalise and as such issued a warning on this occasion.
