Stewards spoke to Ms Shara Quinlan, the trainer of Cullquin Alexis regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Cullquin Alexis last raced on 24 November 2017 and is returning after an injury to the left stopper and right long head triceps (monkey) muscle.

Spring Shower was quick to begin. Idaho Blue and Oz Wizard were slow to begin and collided soon after the start.
