On Friday 20 April 2018 Stewards conducted Out of Competition Testing as follows: K. Gavin (Lush Life), P. Teuma (Clyde’s Girl & Oemi Allen), P. Rowan (Sanya Bay), L. On Saturday 21 April 2018 Stewards conducted Out of Competition Testing at the Warrnambool Trials as follows: A. Carman (Thomeli Monster), R. Mahoney (Unnamed greyhound), J. McCosh (Unnamed greyhound), D. Drew (Aston Ninja & Annie Lava), S. Thompson (Aston Duke) and P. Byrne (Lecktra Elsa). Stewards also conducted the following Out of Competition Testing: R. Brewer (Jewell Fantasy, Slick Brew & Spritely Brew) and V. Inguanti (Inga Ted, Bobby Tokaam, Kadabra Monelli, Seeking Stars, Inga Ross, Unnamed greyhound).

Murrabit Benny was slow to begin. No Secrets, Go Barny Go and Leica Cali King collided soon after the start, checking Go Barny Go. Brin Bandit, Piriformis and On Time Johnny collided approaching the first turn. Go Barny Go crossed to the rail on the first turn, severely checking No Secrets, On Time Johnny, Brin Bandit and Piriformis. Three Toots raced wide on the home turn and eased in the home straight. On Time Johnny and No Secrets collided several times in the home straight, checking both greyhounds.

Three Toots was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

A sample was taken from Leica Cali King - the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Ms. T. Deglaitis, the trainer of the greyhound Three Toots regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Three Toots with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Deglaitis pleaded guilty to the charge, Three Toots was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Kinloch Moss stumbled soon after the start and lost ground. Thomeli Skip, Ruby's Diamond, Sisco Bella, Got Some Cheek and Ledgerwood Molly collided soon after the start, checking Sisco Bella and Got Some Cheek. Sisco Bella checked off Ruby's Diamond approaching the first turn. Ruby's Diamond and Ledgerwood Molly collided on the first turn, checking Ruby's Diamond and Sisco Bella. Lindy Bop checked off Ledgerwood Molly on the home turn. Lindy Bop and Kinloch Moss collided in the home straight, checking Kinloch Moss and Sisco Bella. Sisco Bella and Lindy Bop collided in the home straight, checking Lindy Bop. Sisco Bella and Kinloch Moss collided several times in the home straight.

Hit The Highway, Zipping Kelly and Billy's Bake collided on the first turn, checking Zipping Kelly and Hit The Highway. Hit The Highway and Zipping Kelly collided on the second turn, checking Hit The Highway. Scott Keeping and Caco Potion collided entering the back straight, checking Caco Potion. Scott Keeping, Caco Potion and Zipping Kelly raced wide in the back straight. Caco Potion crossed to the rail on the third turn, checking Billy's Bake and Zipping Kelly. Zipping Kelly and Billy's Bake collided entering the home straight, checking Zipping Kelly. Cadalora and Alezan collided in the home straight, checking Cadalora.

Waleonjon and Dream Future were quick to begin. Rock Up Top crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Sure To Excite. Dream Future and Waleonjon collided on the first turn, checking Dream Future, which lost ground as a result. Dream Future and Sure To Excite collided approaching the home turn.

Aston Duke (1st) and Nangar Warrior (2nd). 

Kouta Mayhem, Set To Storm and Wilbur Deeds collided on the first turn, checking Wilbur Deeds. Kouta Mayhem checked off the heels of Quotation Mark approaching the home turn.

Unleash Bolly was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right back muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Calendar Boy was a late scratching at 10:20am due to illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted

Xtreme Shine and Black Mumbo were quick to begin. Black Mumbo, Xtreme Shine and Barwell Boy collided approaching the first turn, checking Barwell Boy, resulting in Tiempo Dinero checking off the heels of Barwell Boy. Xtreme Shine and Solitary Girl collided approaching the home turn, checking Solitary Girl. Solitary Girl and Barwell Boy collided in the home straight.

Tiggerlong Nosey and Black Market were quick to begin. Kouta Gold was slow to begin. Aston Dinnigan, Black Market and Kouta Gold collided approaching the first turn, checking Black Market and Kouta Gold. Dyna Patty checked off the heels of Italian Plastic approaching the first turn. Black Market checked off the heels of Tiggerlong Nosey approaching the home turn. Black Market checked off the heels of Italian Plastic entering the home straight. Dyna Patty raced wide entering the home straight. Kouta Gold checked of the heels of Black Market in the home straight.

Mr A. Graham was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers/registration card were produced for the greyhound Cee Righty, pursuant to GAR 33.

Alpha Georgiou crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Cee Righty. Gregorovitch checked off the heels of Rockalot on the first turn. Gregorovitch checked off the heels of Rockalot approaching the home turn and became unbalanced for several strides.

Peter Galo was slow to begin. Pants On Fire, Peter Galo and Leo's Gift collided approaching the first turn, checking Peter Galo. Leo's Gift checked off the heels of Peter Galo entering the home straight, causing Leo's Gift to race wide.

Raw Ability was quick to begin. Rumble Drive was slow to begin. Milky Jones, Cilla Brown and Aston Frankel collided approaching the first turn, checking Cilla Brown and Aston Frankel. Rumble Drive checked off Milky Jones on the first turn, checking Aston Frankel. Rumble Drive and Aston Franklel collided on the first turn, checking Aston Frankel. Madeline Keeping and Milky Jones collided in the home straight, checking Madeline Keeping.

Cudgee's Milo and Weeona Annie collided soon after the start. Merc and Weeona Annie collided approaching the first turn. Where's Jamal and Weeona Raph collided approaching the first turn. Merc and Weeona Annie collided on the first turn, severely checking Weeona Annie, which collided with Cudgee's Milo. El Grand Knocka checked off Tiggerlong Ring on the first turn. Isen Allen and El Grand Knocka collided on the home turn, and again in the home straight. Where's Jamal and El Grand Knocka collided approaching the winning post.

Weeona Annie was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

El Grand Knocka was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuried to the right monkey muscle, left back muscle and left thigh, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Nash Road Betty was slow to begin. Shannah's Gift, Dyna Winter, Winlock Casper and Tiggerlong Rock collided approaching the first turn, checking Dyna Winter, Shannah's Gift and Winlock Casper. Teflon Toby checked off Zipping Amber on the first turn. Shannah's Gift and Winlock Casper collided on the first turn, causing Shannah's Gift to fall.

Shannah's Gift was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right triangle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards conducted a box draw for the Warrnambool Cup to be held on Wednesday 2nd of May 2018. The official box draw is as follows:
